I always try my best with all my assignments and I feel I have committed myself to my work 100% I have got through 7 assignments in a period of time, and feel that is a great achievement and I will give 100% with all my coursework. I feel I have achieved a lot since I started the course, I initially started my A+ course in 2005 but struggled really hard to find the time to study in between family life and work. Then personal problem seemed to mount up, my relationship unfortunately ended and my step father was taken ill( fortunately he's doing well now). I still persevered and managed to pass both my exams eventually to gain my A+ certificate. I feel I have a greater knowledge now and indulge in pc repairing for a hobby and am looking forward to an interview soon. Many thanks. New very little about computers when I 1st started, I have worked my way round the course and managed to have a better understanding of computers, to unextent of troubleshooting and repairing some major problems that arise in my personal pc as well as at work.( a good example, today I have managed to deal with a major printing failure at work due to the spooler service being stopped. After several attempts to restart it, an error kept being displayed that the spoolsv.exe file could not be found in the system. I then searched the c drive only to realise that for some reason the file had been deleted from the C:WINNTsystem32. I managed to locate the file in a file which was hidden attrib, then copied and pasted to the system32 and at last the spooler system could now start.) Bearing in mind that I'm still in my early staged of my course,(i.e have not covered some topics) it is a great achievement that I can work around the pc confidently and can explore matters that I have not yet covered in my course due to the strong foundation that I have gained in my course. Not to mention that I came to uk 4yrs ago and could not speak English, so I have combined this course with other major NVQ's eg. English & Businness Administration. The month of March has been not good for me. I am a new student and have only submitted 2 of my TMA; the first I got over 90% and the other, 73%. Although I have been in the field for quite a while now; repairing and networking systems, troubleshooting and assembling (cloning) systems. I hope to continue to work and study harder to achieve my aims and objectives. I became A+ certified (on 4/06/07) I have also submitted four tma`s this month from my N+ coursework, where I have kept up a high standard of work with my lowest mark being 90%, I have managed to remain focused on my studies and goals despite my household resembling a hospital ward of late (firstly I sprained my ankle ligaments, then both my children catching chicken pox and my wife having a health scare as well), so time has been of a premium just lately but even by my own admission I think I've used it productively. In the past month I managed to complete the last few TMAs of my A+ course and pass my examinations at the first attempt, before the 2003 objectives expired. I have also recently transferred a friend's computer into a new case following a faulty PSU and some overheating issues. I would just like to let people know that on 4/06/07 I became A+ certified, I would never have thought before I started my course that I would attain something like that I always thought that with having a young family and a full time job that I wouldn't have the time or energy to study but I proved myself wrong and I'm glad that I did, I'm now working towards my N+ and after that my MCSA, my best decision so far though was making the initial call to skillstrain and starting out on this new career journey, so if there is anybody out there who are having doubts about is it. Is it all worth it, then the answer is YES !!, its been a long hard and sometimes frustrating road but nobody ever said it would be easy, lastly I just want to thank the whole of the skillstrain team without whom I wouldn't have got as far as I have. My brother's 13 year old son was getting very upset with his laptop, as it had been playing up for some time. Eventually it gave up all together and would not boot at all. My brother was going to through it away, so I asked him to let me have a look at it. With the troubleshooting & research knowledge I have gain whilst on this course I was able to track down the fault which turned out to be a bad memory chip slot. I put the memory chip in the vacant slot and the laptop came back to life. my nephew was very happy. In the face of adversity I have had more than my fair share of personal problems this year, including a long stay in hospital where I was unable to study and also suffering an industrial injury where I was laid up for the best part of 7 weeks also unable to study. Being a parent, husband, employee and STUDENT, it was really hard work for me to get through my course, anyway I wrote my COMPTIA A+ EXAMANITAIONS and passed them with flying colors. Thanks to you all. My wife gave birth to our daughter on 25th March, which has caused me not to be able to study anywhere as much as I need or want to, especially as our 2 year old son requires lots of attention. So it has been very gratifiying that I have done fairly well on some of my Tma's ( not 2 say that my thick head still holds all the info ......... ) I am very happy and would like to say thanks skillstrain for the good experience, I have been very busy with my family cares and I have a 4 year old son. I am a coach driver. I do shift work when I have time I study learning about the computer. It is not very easy with work and family commitments this will give me opportunities for a new skill to a better job. Thanks.
