I would like to enter for student of the month as I have a 11 month old baby and a 3 year old plus a husband. I never knew much about computers before and since iv been studying with skills train iv learnt a lot as you can understand it is not easy being a mother and studying however I think iv managed quite well iv only been doing my course for 4 months and I am 3 quarters of the way through it my marks have been very good and I am very proud of what I've achieved. FINISHED SECTION 1 PART A OF THE A+ IN JUST UNDER A MONTH. I have been studying for the comptia a+ and n+ course for the last 2-3 months and have successfully completed 10 of the first 11 tma's with no resits my lowest result being 73 and three results of 100 I started working sometime in April and despite of working full time I still manage to find time to continue with my course work. In my work place, there were times that they don't have to contact the system admin because I was able to fix problem of the computer. I have also helped 2 of my friends fix their computers. One have to deal with connections with internet because he can't get any connections from the internet & needs to configure computer & isolate the problem. i.e, cable connections. I have finished the A+ in an exceptional time. I have also made average of 95% grade which is fantastic. All was achieved with a full time job plus I have to look over my 5 years old son. I have achieved 100% so far in 4 out of six assignments and got no lower then 92% so far in the other two, also just handed in number 7 and hope to get an exceptional result in that one too. I have only been doing the course for two months but I am freeing up more time to be able to do more assignments more quickly as I want to complete the course in good time but also take into account that what I learn has to sink in. DOING THIS COURSE WORK HAS REALLY GIVEN ME CONFIDENCE TO BUILD MY FIRST PC, I'VE ONLY BEEN DOING THIS COURSE 3 MONTHS AND HAD SKILLS BEFORE BUT NO FOUNDED KNOWLEDGE JUST WHAT I'VE PICKED UP, MY 4 YR OLD SON IS DELIGHTED WITH HIS NEW TOWER. Due to my studies I have recently secured several jobs fixing computers for people in my local area these have consisted of small problems such as removing spyware or reinstalling windows but also more serious problems like installing new hardware or replacing resistors on motherboards. I also feel that this course has greatly increased my confidence and I now feel more than happy to tackle any problem I May encounter computer related or other wise. Along with this I have also successfully completed the BTECH national diploma in interactive media at my local college even while completing my TMAs for my skills train course I personally feel that this is a huge accomplishment as both courses have demanded a great deal of my time and attention. So overall so far I've accomplished quite a lot and in the future I am sure I'll achieve a great deal more all thanks to the tutors and staff at skillstrain! It's taken me a few years to get back into studying and taught I would find it hard to study and work full time. I've enjoyed the course work so far and wish I had started it sooner. I HAVE HELPED TWO OLD LADIES WHO NEVER KNEW HOW TO USE A COMPUTER TO BE ABLE TO TYPE E-MAILS, SURF THE NET, TYPE LETTERS AND HOW TO EVEN SWITCH A COMPUTER ON, BECAUSE BEFORE THEY WERE SO FRIGHTENED TO TOUCH A PC BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BITE THEN AND NOW THEY ARE A WHIZZ. IT TOOK ME NO TIME AT ALL TO GET THESE TWO LADIES UP TO SPEED WITH THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY. At 30, working as an electrical foreman(sub contractor), overlooking a £5 million project; is challenging enough; dealing with people with vast experience in the construction industry. Daily duties involves dealing with the company office on hourly basis, main contractor site manager, architects, project manager, site representative, quality controller representative, company owner and arranging work four tradesmen; only on daily basis. keeping up with my little girls and my missus, and do some studies through skills train is a challenge but seems accustomed to it, and hoping to achieve more in the near future. I have been suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome for the last 3 years, being without a job or something to keep me occupied has been depressing to say the least.
