I am an electrician by trade so work really long hours and managing to fit study and family pressures into my very busy day is hard work, but I do. when I first started this course I thought there was no way I would be able to understand the work. my kids have been great, but my wife has been so supportive that it drives me on to study in my spare time and to study the work. I have realised that I love learning new skills and how to sort my self out in finding time to study. what amazes me is that I can remember what I have studied when I sit and do the tma`s. I have repaired 3 computers in the last 3 weeks and am finding it easier each time to understand simple faults on p.c`s. when I started this course I didnt know much about i.t, I knew a bit but not as much as I do now. I can honestly say I really am enjoying the course I have enrolled on. thanks I have been studying the A+, and N+ coursework simultaneously for two and a half years now, I sat the first section exam for A+ in July 2006 and passed. I sat the second section A+ exam in September 2006 and failed (by only 31 points). My wife started a major 4 month dispute with her employer, which has just ended to our advantage, I then had surgery in December, Then there was Christmas, our house finally sold in January, and we are trying to organise our emigration to Cyprus for February! So needless to say I have been cancelling and rescheduling my A+ resit for quite a while now, as we are due to move out of our home on Feb 7th, I had to take my re-sit in late January with virtually no studying as my books were all packed away! Guess what?.....I passed, WooHoo! Scored 567, which is an improvement in my score of 98 points, I am well pleased, being A+ certified will get me work easier in Cyprus, and I'll continue my N+ coursework during the summer months. I feel that I have made many achievements throughout this course. I am a full time mum of 2 year old twin girls with one on the way. Looking after my children is obviously my first priority however, I still manage to study a few hours a night if not every other night. Having children has made me even more determined to do my best throughout the course as it will enable me to better their lives by being able to earn a good wage. Out of 16 tests I have passed 6 tests with 100% and I feel proud of this accomplishment. None of this would be possible without the help and support of my tutors or the love and support of my family. I don't expect to win this however I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has made it possible for someone in my position to further their education and to gain better prospects for a career. Hi I wanted to start off by saying that I got off to a shaky start from the course. When I started on my foundation I got a fair few answers wrong but I learnt from the mistakes and pressed on. I was shocked, by the time I finished the first book in January my average score was 96.5%! I was amazed that the teachings from the course stayed so fresh in my head. As I continued into February my first test back showed another decline in quality. But I wasn't going to let that happen again and trough study pulled it back to the mark I was previously achieving. I guess I have problems with starting new things but I'm looking forward to maintaining my mark. More amazingly I am helping out friends and family with problems I recognise from the course. It's already proving handy. I even diagnosed and made a hardware repair and the computer works better than it used to. A graphics card had over heated and damaged itself so I researched all I could and bought the new card and it works great. Such acts were very rewarding to myself and have given me a bigger urge to get into a job in PC Hardware. I know IT recruiters are looking for this qualification and I can defiantly see why now, Thank you Skills Train you put me on a career path I can't wait to start! As an University student and also working full-time, I find the time to continue my studies with Skillstrain. This course has helped me with my job and a network administrator for over 20 primary schools in the area. The skills I have developed has made me understand the structure of servers and netwrok architectures, to give the children a better network, so they can develop their ICT skills as well; I feel as if I teach the children my way of ICT even though I dont actually teach them, that whats makes me proud of going to work everyday. After sustaining a fracture dislocation of the knee, ligamant damage and osteoarthritis whilst serving in the Army many years ago, my health dictated that I must change career direction. Having never studied beyond secondary education level, I decided that due to my interests in all things IT that a career based on my hobby was the way forward. 18 months ago I embarked on the A+, N+, CCNA and CCNP course. Over the past 18 months I've had two additional knee ops and am currently waiting on a third. In the past 18 months I've submitted course work every week, with only one exception. The fact that I have this course to focus on has given me hope that the future is bright. I'm really looking forward to finishing the course and achieving a qualification that is recognised world wide. I'm really proud of myself and my regimented course of study, you're never too old to start something new. Well, I fell that I have maintained a high average throughout the A+ part of the course. I have had a few different circumstances in which doing the work has been difficult such as, I am currently working at the same time at Capgemini, a IT Support Company, I do there 7am to 4pm, which is really time consuming becuase I am tired all the time, the only time I get to work is Saturday and Sunday. Apart from this, there was a situation where my mom and dad had to leave over the christmas period to go India. I was left home with my younger brother and sister. My parents left me with the responsibility to pay bills, look after everyone else, do shopping etc. Most these things were extremely hard because I was on a strict budget and taking into account that I do not drive. I feel that sharing the responsibilty between my brother and sister was a good idea, becuase then it relieves pressure from myself. Since I applied for CCNA+ course and received my first book, have not had much time to study. Last year after Christmas I decided to start studying, and took it very seriously. I have finished the original N+ PART A book, all my assigments has been marked in 3 weeks, when the updates were released. So I thought that I was going to start the new N+ PART A book from the beginning. I have to hit myself to make such it is not dream.Six months ago,I didn't like where my life was going. Today I am happy I found skillstrain. I am on N+ TMA2 and getting ready to do the practical training session at the Luton centre.I can't wait .keep me going skillstrain luv it all thank you. I HAVE ACHIEVED VERY HIGH MARKS NOT LESS THAN 100% - 75%FOR THE T.M.A's I HAVE DONE AFTER ALL THE UNIVERSITY COURSE WORKS AND EXAM'S, I STILL MADE SURE I STUDIED HARD AND GAINED GOOD MARKS FOR MY T.M.A.'s. SO I HOPE YOU CAN READ THROUGH THIS AND SEE HOW MUCH I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY AWARD GIVEN TO ME.THANK YOU. I feel that looking after my wife how has been in hospital having 2 major operations one was possible big C so to get 83% in my TMA2 was a major achivement ITS A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT FOR ME TO ENROLL WITH SKILLSTRAIN COLLEGE AS A CCNA STUDENT AND HAVE JUST GOT A 100% IN MY TMA 01.I HAVE REALISED THAT SOMETIMES WE DO LIMIT OUR OWN SUCCESS AS INDIVIDUALS BUT THEN NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE IF YOU WANT SOMETHING YOU OUGHT TO GO OUT AND GRAB IT NOMATTER WHAT THE SITUATION IS LIKE.
