I HAVE I FEEL ACHIEVED SIGNIFICANTLY STRONG RESULTS WITH MY 8 TMA'S SUBMITTED SO FAR. I'AM STUDYING HARD WHILST WORKING LONG HOURS IN MY FULL TIME JOB AND ALSO SUPPORTING MY SICK WIFE AND MY 4 YEAR OLD SON. MY WIFE IS CURRENTLY AWAITING A DIAGNOSIS FOR A POTENTIALY SERIOUS ILLNESS AND HAS BEEN TOLD SHE WILL BE ON MEDICATION FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE.
STUDYING IS HARD TO FIT AROUND EVERYTHING. BUT I FEEL ITS IMPORTANT TO FIT IN AS I WANT TO PROVIDE A BETTER LIFE FOR MY FAMILY. THE ONLY WAY I CAN DO THIS IS TO COMMIT AS MUCH TIME AS I CAN TO GET AHEAD IN LIFE.

Back in January I could just about switch on my son's laptop computer. When I decided to take on this course a lot of people seemed surprised as I had never really shown much interest in computers let alone try to work out why one wasn't working. Now just a few months on I have fixed 3 computers, upgraded my old computer and added new software to several friends computers.
I feel so proud of myself I can not explain how happy and confident I felt when I managed to work out what was wrong with the computers with no help from anyone!.
I would not have had a clue if it wasn't for skills train. This course has given me confidence in myself and now I can't wait to complete my course and hopefully set up my own business in computer repair. Although my family and friends were not sure when I first mentioned doing this course they are all behind me, not only because of what I have achieved but also because I have saved them a small fortune!

I have submitted 3 assignments in the month of April. I have passed all 3 with 2 results being 100%. I am really pleased with this result especially as I have had difficulty over the last wee while finding study time with working full time and looking after my two children. Even if this does not win I am just pleased within myself for getting these types of results.

Well where do I start, hmmm, I got my Network + Part A in June of last year and didn't start the course work right away, this was because my brother in law was seriously ill, unfortunately he passed away in August. I did, however, manage to send TMA01 away and passed it with 78%, then the course was updated and decided to restart the course on the new material. February this year I sent away the new TMA01 and got 100%, this allowed me to push on, and I completed TMA10A two weeks ago with an overall 97% pass and eagerly await Part B. Unfortunately I have had another bereavement in my family with the loss of my young cousin aged 19, this has spurred me on though as life is too short and I know that completing this course will allow me to move my career on, thank you SkillsTrain for giving me this opportunity. I hope this little text allows others to see that even under adverse family conditions that it is still possible to study and actually complete the work in a relatively short period of time. I hope to be able to move onto a Microsoft certification course when I complete Network +.

I enrolled in SkillsTrain because I wanted to spend time with my family more when they get to the UK next year.

I was an HR professional for more than 10 years now - more than 3 in the UK and another 7 in my country, the Philippines. I enjoyed working in HR, don't get me wrong, but I've grown tired of having to work beyond my time in the office and then having to take home work to do over the weekend.

My wife and I are planning to bring our children in the country next year - I've been separated with my daughter for more than 2 years and I've hardly seen my son grow. When they get to join us in the UK, I just want to spend as much time with them as I can.

I will complete A+ and N+ so I can be part self-employed, repairing PC's and laptop's or setting up and maintaing networks for small companies. I will also complete MCSA so I can work part-time or work full time with some days working at home - I know that with current technology, System's Administration can easily be done remotely at home. It is still hard work but at least I will have several earning options which would allow me to be with my kids.

With help from SkillsTrain, all this will become a reality.

After 20 years in Reinsurance (Insurance) working for Lloyds' Brokers and Underwriters , I had had enough of slogging up to London every day. I had always had IT (computers) as a hobby starting with the VIC 20, BBC Micro and Amiga in the '80's and decided that if I could turn my hobby into a profession I might be happier. Last year I signed up with Skillstrain and passed my N+ in December. I have since got a job as a a Support And Systems Engineer with a very reputable firm in Crawley. I now drive to work through the countyside and enjoy what I do (regardless of my current salary). I am being encouraged to continue with my MCSA/MCSE and I have a renewed sense of purpose! Thank you.

I had just received a pass mark of 100% in TMA. I am proud as punch that I am finding the time to study my course between working during the day and also learning to bring up my baby daughter who will be 11 weeks on Friday coming, she is the driving force for me to push myself to achieve great results.

I have started my course with SkillsTrain just over a 6 months now, only 6 units left! Although I have had previous computer knowledge from completing my GCSE and A-Level ICT exams, I must admit though that studying the N+ has given me exceptional knowledge about computer hardware/software and computer network which is what I enjoy doing, hence why I decided to embark on this course. The main reason for me to achieve my goal ( completing the course and gaining a successful career), is so that life can be made easier for me and for my mum who works hard for me and my sister to see us do well. If you could ask any one in my family/friends they will both tell you that iv got a fixed mind on what I want, and thats to be successful in life and not just 'make do' but be a somebody that makes a difference. Im not exactly aged with experiance, being 19 years of age you would think I would be doing something totally different to earn a living, but iv always known from early secondary school that IT was the way forward for me.
At the moment for a regulary income to the house, I work night shifts at the local supermarket, its not glamorous but it brings in the cash although balancing work and the course can some days be difficult, I seem to carry on and pull through knowing what will be ahead when I finish. I just cant wait to finish and carry on my dream, though I have to slow my self down sometimes and concentrate on the coursework first, for some reason I can really feel the knowledge gathering together in my head, I was sceptic at first but now it is clear that it is achievable if you stick to studying. I would recommend skills train to any one looking for a change in career or even just a hobbie or what ever, I think its brilliant. Iv already got some friends to sign up!

Since the beginning of my course I have consistantly achieved a high percentage score rate on each of my tutor marked assessments. Over the last 6 assesments I have achieved a 100% score rate. I continually revise all previous modules of the course in order to keep information fresh in my mind ready to put into practice. I have also applied to a number of different PC stores in order to get some hands on experience including PC World.

Since starting my course in March I have submitted 4 TMA's and have an average mark of 91.25%. This May not be outstanding to many but for myself it is a tremendous achievement and one I am very proud of.
I am a married man with 2 children, and I work on average 55hrs per week, so to find the time to complete my studies and submit TMA's is something I am very proud of. I also have the responsibility along with my wife of having to look after a very ill mother in law.
I know there are many deserving ones out there who like me have to juggle work commitments, family responsibilities and studies in a very hectic schedule. I do believe that the rewards of the effort will be worthwhile, and I would like to take this opportunity to encourage all students to continue with their studies as they try to reach their goal.

It is nice sometimes just to share these things with other like minded people, and to know that there are others going through the same things. Thank you.

I believe I have achieved a lot this month as I am working at a hospital full time and work nights but have still managed to study and get 93% and 100% on two of my assignments I have submitted. Also, added to finding the time to study I have been looking for a new job in Telford and looking for a house as well as being unwell. I feel I have worked hard and achieved a good two grades as I have never been very motivated until recently to achieve something and make a better life for myself.

My wife and I made the decision to move nearly 100 miles away from the city we both grew up in, leaving all our friends and a fairly good job behind. The reason for doing this was to give our two children a better life on the coast and to be nearer my parents as my dad had recently suffered a heart attack.
Unfortunately I found it easier to move than to find a job as they are very low paid for unskilled people in this area of the country. I was a bit down at the time as the life I promised my wife and kids was dissapearing into the sunset and was looking a bit bleak, anyway whilst watching t.v one evening I saw a advertisment for a computer course at Skills Train. Once again I counld see some light at the end of the tunnel, maybe this is the direction I should take I thought. I got intouch and a date was made for someone to come and talk about the course. The man who came was very pleasant and informative and gave me all the information I needed and a short test, once done it was agreed that I woud start the A+ Hardware and Maintenance course in December and that it would take a average of about 12 months to complete but if needed I could take longer. I still had a niggling feeling in the back of my mind as I have attempted college courses before only to find out that they were not what I wanted or that I didnt have the spare time to go on a night and do the homework as well. I put this into the back of my mind and remained positive about doing the course and completing it.When the first section came I was over the moon that I was able to understand what I was reading and even more so when I received back my first TMA with a 98% result, so all guns blazing I set out to complete the course as fast as I could but by not skipping anything along the way as that would defeat the object. A bit out of the blue a couple of months into the course I was diagnosed with a progresive hearing disorder which affects my balance amongst other things and eventually I May lose my hearing which is not good, but knowing my 5 year old nephew Ryan is having treatment for a rare type of kidney cancer at St Jame's in Leeds, who am I to grumble and feel sorry for myself! I am now nearly 5 months into the course with quite a few 100% results to my name along the way, I am three quarters way through the final TMA with only the revision supplement to go before I take the exam which I'm dreading but fingers crossed I will pass. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the tutor team as its good to know that I can get help if needed and that it is only a phone call away and to Skills Train for giving some hope for my family and I that we will have a more stable future hopefully running our own business. My message to anyone just starting the course is if things get tough and you think about quiting 'DONT' just think of that goal you set yourself and keep going, you will be there in no time and not only will you reap the rewards but you will feel great about getting there!
